Today, Advantia Health announced that Dr. Lisa Shah has assumed the role of Chief Medical Officer. Advantia Health is transforming healthcare by building an ecosystem of providers and resources that support women in managing their own health and that of their families. With more than 140 providers across Maryland, Virginia and soon Washington, DC, Advantia Health currently provides convenient, coordinated and quality care to more than 250,000 patients in the greater Washington metropolitan area.

Dr. Shah joins Advantia from Sound Physicians where she most recently served as Chief Innovation Officer and led the development and implementation of a telemedicine virtual care model. Prior to this she spent five years at Evolent Health, a publicly-traded company focused on accelerating the transformation to value-based care for providers and health plans. At Evolent, Dr. Shah served as Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations and Network working with health plans and accountable care organizations to build the most effective provider-led care models across multiple populations. Dr. Shah’s work in value-based care redesign has been focused on appropriately leveraging technology, workflows, and multidisciplinary care teams while ensuring the highest patient and provider experience.

Dr. Shah completed her residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Chicago. In addition to her role at Advantia Health, she will continue to practice primary care within the Advantia healthcare network. Dr. Shah is also a member of Women of Impact, a group of women healthcare executives dedicated to helping women across the healthcare industry have long lasting impact on improving the health of the nation. Dr. Shah lives in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband and three children.
In January, Advantia announced that former CVS Health executive Mary Langowski had joined the company’s board of directors and Nathan Barbour, previously of Evolent Health, had assumed the role of Advantia’s Chief Growth Officer.
